And so it begins.

This Thursday, April 2, 2009, commences the most ambitious happy hour event ever attempted (by me, at least). There are hundreds of bars in the DC area. Unfortunately, I've only been to the same 10 bars in the same three neighborhoods over and over. I'd like that to change, and invite you to join me. The concept is simple: 26 letters of the alphabet. 26 weeks. 26 bars.

DC: A-to-Z.

When all is said and done, I hope that you will have discovered some new favorite bars, ventured into new territory, made some new friends, and hopefully escaped without having had to permanently cross a place off your list.

Spread the word and come out as many weeks as possible. Who knows, if we get enough turnout, we might start asking for special group discounts.

This blog will provide a weekly preview of bars to come, as well as insightful and enlightening reviews of past bars by guest bloggers. A weekly evite will go out to the invite list -- if you're not on it and would like to be, shoot me an email and I'll add you.
